Professor Mohd Ma’Sum Billah

Prof. Dr. Mohd Ma’Sum Billah is Senior Professor of Finance at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. An internationally recognized scholar of Islamic finance, business and fintech, he has authored 64 books and more than 200 research papers, and has delivered over 300 lectures at global summits and conventions.

His academic and professional service spans universities, governments, regional centres of excellence and international bodies, including the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the OIC. His work connects financial theory with practical policy across Islamic finance, Takaful, fintech, global trade, sustainability and the green economy.

His applied research includes funded projects for Bank Negara Malaysia and Malaysia’s Intensification of Research in Priority Areas (IRPA) programme. He is currently leading a ten-year, USD 340 million Saudi government mega-project on water desalination, demonstrating how finance can be mobilized to address critical global challenges.
