Prof Dr Mohd Ma’Sum Billah Honoured with Leader of the Islamic Economy Award 2026
25 September 2026 — Prof Dr Mohd Ma’Sum Billah received the Leader of the Islamic Economy Award 2026 at 11 a.m. today. The award was presented by Mej Jen (Dt.) Abdul Karim bin Ahmad during the World Islamic Economy Week Congress 2026. Prof Billah, Senior Professor of Finance at the Islamic Economics Institute, King Abdulaziz University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was recognised for his scholarship, visionary leadership, and strategic contributions to advancing the Islamic economy globally. The recognition followed another milestone yesterday, 24 September, when Prof Billah launched his research and publications portal, [www.masumbillah.org](https://www.masumbillah.org), during the forum. The portal brings together more than 20 years of his research and publications on Islamic finance, providing a dedicated platform for sharing his academic work with a wider audience. The award certificate acknowledges his contributions to creating meaningful economic, social, and institutional impact. It also highlights his applied research and contributions to integrity, innovation, enterprise, collaboration, and sustainable development. The award and portal launch mark two milestones in Prof Billah’s continuing efforts to advance Islamic finance scholarship and expand access to knowledge in the field.
